What This Is

A new language for the body

The Sonic Somatic Method™ is a vibration-based approach to somatic bodywork. It combines therapeutic tuning fork vibration with hands-on fascial work to give the nervous system something real to respond to, and to help the body reconnect with areas it has been guarding, bracing, or holding for years.

This isn't sound bathing and it isn't energy work. It's grounded in nervous system science, fascial anatomy, and proprioceptive reconnection. In two days you'll learn the why and the how, and you'll spend most of your time with forks in your hands, working on real bodies with real-time coaching.

What You'll Learn

Two days, start to finish

Day One · Foundation

The science, the tools, and your own nervous system

We lay the groundwork: the science of why vibration works, the nervous system and fascia as the terrain we work with, and the fundamentals of the tools themselves. You'll get oriented to the method and begin hands-on practice learning to feel and follow vibration through the body.

Day Two · Application & Integration

Delivering the work, and making it your own

We move into applying the method. Through demonstration and extended hands-on practice with coaching from both instructors, you'll learn to deliver the work on real bodies and blend fork work with hands-on technique. We bring in the art of somatic dialogue and holding space, scope of practice and safety, and how to weave SSM into the work you already do, so you leave ready to begin using it with clients.

Who It's For

Bodyworkers of every kind

If you work with the body, this work has a place in your practice. No prior tuning fork experience is needed.

Why It Matters

For your practice, and your clients

For your practice: a distinctive tool that sets your work apart, reduces the physical load on your hands, and opens a new way to reach clients who haven't responded to anything else.

For your clients: a way to access the nervous system directly, to quiet chronic guarding, and to feel change in a single session that other approaches can take much longer to reach.

Questions

Good to know

Do I need tuning fork experience?
No. We start from the foundation and build up. You'll leave confident with the tools whether or not you've ever held a fork.
What should I bring?
Comfortable clothing you can move in, a notebook, and an open mind. Forks are provided for in-class practice.
What's the refund policy?
Fully refundable until July 13, 2026. After that, your registration is non-refundable but fully transferable to a future SSM training or to another person taking your seat.
Will I be able to use this with clients right away?
Yes. The training is built around hands-on practice so you leave ready to integrate SSM into your existing work.
Do I need a massage license to take this course?
No. A massage license is not required, because the Sonic Somatic Method can be practiced with the forks as your primary and only tool. In Level 1, your instructors will also show you hands-on options that deepen the work, but these are optional and not required to practice the method. Touch and bodywork regulations vary by state, so it is your responsibility to check your own state’s requirements regarding licensure to touch and to practice within your existing scope. We cover scope of practice during the training.
What do I receive, and can I offer this to clients?
You’ll receive a certificate of completion for SSM Level 1, and you’ll leave ready to begin offering the method in your own practice. You’re welcome to describe yourself as trained in the Sonic Somatic Method and to offer Sonic Somatic Method sessions to your clients. The training is built around hands-on practice, so you can start using the work right away.
